Welcome to Hetalia Day 2014!

Event Flyer - short

Since 2009, Hetalia fans worldwide have been meeting up on a single day, in cities worldwide, to hangout with their fellow fans and have Hetalia-themed activities. This year, Hetalia Day is on October 25th (Saturday).

With 90 days until that day, you can now check our directory for meetups in your location. More meetups get submitted as Hetalia Day approaches, so be sure to check back if your city isn’t on the list right now. But if you want to host one, our FAQ can help you get started. (Please be advised that it’s not recommended for those aged 17 and below to host public meetups on their own.) You can also visit our Hetalia Day voting page to check where a meetup is in high demand.

If this is your first time attending this event, please read the FAQ for attendees.

There is one word that’s most often used to describe what Hetalia Day’s like, and it’s FUN! We hope you can join us on this once-a-year event.

“But there’s still no meetup in my city!”
Again and again, I will remind you that most hosts start their planning during September and October. (If you really can’t wait, you can organize your own or submit your city to our “Hetalia Day Wanted Here” page.)

And speaking of Hetalia Day Wanted Here

There have been numerous requests for (more) Hetalia Day meetups in the following countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, El Salvador, Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam. For which cities in those countries, please visit the page.

Meanwhile, the cities/locations with the strongest demand for a Hetalia Day meetup (according to that list) are:

  1. Canton, Ohio USA
  2. Phoenix, Arizona USA and Cary/Raleigh, North Carolina  USA
  3. Trondheim, Norway
  4. Avondale, Arizona USA
  5. Vaughan, Ontario, Canada

Mapped!

If you’re wondering where Hetalia Day meetups have been held in the past (but are feeling too lazy to scan the directories), then here’s something for you.

Every past meetup  (that’s not striked out) in the directories has been plotted in a Google Map.

map

Because there’s a limit to how many markers/places that can be displayed in one page, there are two versions of this map.
Version 1: The real map, which is divided into two pages.
Version 2: A hack of the first map, which displays all the markers.

Feel free to explore any of the two!

A reminder: All meetups registered so far are listed in the directory. If you’re hoping for a meetup in your city, visit the Hetalia Day Wanted Here! page. Vote for your city, so that other fans may know that there’s interest for meetup in your area.

Hetalia Day 2013: directory now open for meetups!

In case you missed it: Hetalia Day 2013 is going to be held on the 26th of October, a Saturday. As always,  it is just a recommended date.

The directory is now open for your meetups! Email your Hetalia Day details (where, when, website) to [email protected]. (For more info on organizing your Hetalia Day event, check out the updated FAQ.)

There’s also a new section in the site called “Hetalia Day Wanted Here!”. This can be used to check if there’s enough interest for a Hetalia Day in your location.

2013banner

I’d like to thank  rosel-d who lent us his fanart for this year’s banner. His style is reminiscent of Himaruya’s so it easily caught my attention. Visit his deviantART for more Himaruya-esque Hetalia fanart.

(If you’d like to use the banner above for your meetup, here is the template as a PSD.)

Upgrade, and Hetalia Day 2013

Two things…

1. Hetalia Day 2013 will be on the 26th October 2013. As usual that is just the ideal date. If  it’s not possible to hold your event  on the 26th, it’s okay.

2. The site is now on WordPress (I should have done this a long time ago). I’ve just finished importing old entries from Livejournal/FC2 – those pages will be still be up as backups. Old pages will no longer be visible, but most of the old content will still be here somewhere. (I’ve yet to import those pages so you’ll probably encounter a 404 error page more than usual.)

Lastly, I’d like to apologize if your photo is *still* missing from last year’s album. I have it in my inbox and will upload it.
